Barcelona to Host Historic Game at Upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend

The club confirmed their first game will take place at the partially upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Bilbao team in the Spanish league two and a half years following their departure to allow renovations to start.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity but 45,401 spectators can be present as per the current authorization. Once fully finished, the Camp Nou is due to hold over 104,000 attendees, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said finished work included a renovated tunnel for players and new dressing rooms.

Preparatory Events

Barça organized an open training session inside the stadium in early November. They mentioned approval is being pursued by UEFA for their upcoming Champions League fixture facing Eintracht in December at the stadium. Their recent games have been held at the Olympic Stadium.
