The former president's Family Member Gets Professional Advice from Golf Legend Woods Before LPGA First Appearance
The rising star has considerable social media presence
Kai Trump can count on plenty of high-profile supporters when she starts her professional golf debut this Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who is the granddaughter of a former US president, was granted a tournament invitation to compete at Florida's Annika event in Florida.
The former president, an avid golfer, owns numerous international courses and regularly matches against Kai.
"He's quite skilled. I shouldn't elaborate but we play competitive games," she revealed.
Kai explained that her grandfather, unable to come, told her: "Just don't get nervous."
"He practically advised me to compete and enjoy myself," she continued.
"In my eyes, he's simply an ordinary family member. He won't be there this weekend. He's occupied with running the country, making him somewhat preoccupied."
As an amateur, Kai has participated in just three tournaments recently and holds ranking 461 in the American Junior Golf Association standings.
Yet she can get advice from Tiger Woods, in a relationship with Vanessa.
"He stands as the best player globally," the young golfer said.
"Furthermore, he's a more impressive person. He advised me to compete, relax, adapting to whatever happens."
Kai will face several most prominent players in the sport at the Annika, including world number two the champion, England's Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and last year's winner Lilia Vu.
Officials stated that Kai's presence exposes golf to new audiences, particularly reaching youth audiences.
The social media influencer boasts substantial online presence and recently launched her own clothing and lifestyle brand.
She begins at 5:30 PM GMT.
